This MiG-15 was obtained by the Tamiya kit, 1/48.
The major work was to make a new tiny canopy of clear foil.
The pilot was Nikolai Ivanovic Ivanov, a W.W.II ace ( 2 x He-112 and 4 x Fw-190); his aircraft was damaged over Berlin by AA artillery, he was badly wounded by fire and bailed out.
At June 1952, he went in Korea as a fighter pilot of 726 IAP (Fighter regiment), with Chinese markings. He fought against American Sabres and shot down four of them plus two damaged. All of Sabre pilots were experienced W.W.II pilots too.
Now, at the age of 82, he lives maybe his last days on this Earth at Yaroslav town, north of Moscow.
Paint scheme: unusual and very attractive (as you can see). Exact FS matches are unknown.
P.R. China national insignias were taken from the original kit and "red 502" number is drawn with Corel Draw, then printed by color laser printer.
